Long-Term Substitute Social Studies Teacher Needed

Location: Champlain Valley Union High School

Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) seeks a qualified educator for a Long-Term Substitute Social Studies Teacher position. The position begins September 2026 and runs through January 15, 2027.

 

Primary Responsibilities

• Teach 9th–12th grade social studies coursework with a primary focus on 19th- to 21st-century US and World History.

• Cover one section of an elective civics course.

• Teach four sections of 10th-grade Humanities in a co-teaching model alongside an English teacher.

• Utilize standards-based instruction and assessment practices.

• Collaborate using an interdisciplinary, team-teaching approach.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

• Valid Vermont teaching licensure with a secondary Social Studies endorsement (only certified teachers will be considered).

• Experience with interdisciplinary team-teaching models.

• Demonstrated experience using standards-based instruction and assessment strategies.
