Long-Term Substitute Intensive Paraeducator Needed

Location: Charlotte Central School

Charlotte Central School (CCS) is seeking an energetic and collaborative professional to join our special education team as a Long-Term Substitute Intensive Paraeducator. This long-term sub position is antipated to start on 08/24/26 and end on 10/09/26. The successful candidate will be a skilled, caring individual dedicated to providing intensive support in the areas of multi-layered curriculum (or curriculum overlapping), communication, behavior, and activities of daily living. In this role, you will work across our Pre-K to 8th grade school settings to support student independence and ensure the smooth functioning of academic programs.

 

Primary Responsibilities

• Implement and support elements of student instructional and behavioral plans under the direction of licensed professionals.
• Integrate communication and behavioral interventions into various classroom and school-wide settings.
• Foster student independence to ensure full participation in all school activities, promoting growth in every interaction.
• Assist with activities of daily living, which may include personal care and physical support.
• Collaborate as a positive team member with teachers, specialists, and families to ensure instructional continuity.
• Supervise students during assigned duties, which may include lunch, recess, transitions, and potentially supporting students on the bus ride to or from school.
• Maintain professional integrity by carrying out school and district policies and advocating for inclusive education.

• A problem-solving approach and a flexible nature when navigating the diverse needs of students in a Pre-K through 8th-grade environment.
• The physical ability to meet the requirements of the job, including lifting as needed to support student safety and care.
• Exceptional patience and poise when guiding students through daily school activities and transitions.
• A persistent willingness to learn and adapt to new instructional strategies or behavioral supports.
